Even as a non-profit and tax-exempt organisation we still need to cover our costs.
Solar cookers and tunnel driers should remain affordable to people in Gambia. In addition, we value fair work conditions for our employees in Gambia. As such, we are dependent on financial support from others.

Tree Seedlings, information posters, and a new hygienic dishwashing area

Last week we handed out to each woman attending the womens' program a lemon, mandarins, orange, or grapefruit tree seedling as a give away. The tree seedlings are a symbol for the preserving of nature. Although the saplings are still small, with plenty of care they will become a big and powerful trees with lots of fruits in a few years. With Tiloo we want to turn something small into a bigger movement which is sustainable.

The information posters for the classroom arrived. Visitors of the Solar Association Tiloo now find information about renewable energies, the advantages of solar energy and why it is important to preserve and also to plant trees.

The kitchen has got a new hygienic dishwashing area with tiles. This week, more tiles will be laid in the kitchen and on the porch.

A small mosque for our local staff was realized. The mosque is privately funded by Elena and Amadou Steger-Kassama and was solemnly inaugurated on Saturday with the naming ceremony of Alieu.

Der Stapel donates 10. CHF to Tiloo for each book-stack sold.
