Even as a non-profit and tax-exempt organisation we still need to cover our costs.
Solar cookers and tunnel driers should remain affordable to people in Gambia. In addition, we value fair work conditions for our employees in Gambia. As such, we are dependent on financial support from others.

Visit of 50 women for an information day at the new Tiloo Center

One of our aims is to reduce poverty and give women in Gambia a chance to create an additional income to better support their household costs. All in a way that supports their independence and self-capacity, while caring for the environment.

We started doing information days, whereby groups of women are warmly welcomed at the new Tiloo Center to get a good impression of how they could benefit from us. With theory and practical examples, we show them how they can, for example, use solar dryers to preserve their garden produce and build up a small income source by selling them. Later on, each woman is welcomed to come for an individual training, where she can learn everything from baking with solar cookers or drying with solar dryers in a hygienic and nutritious way, to packaging and selling her products.

Recently we had a group of 50 women from the surrounding area visiting us, with good spirits and full of interest. We are looking forward to next group!
